Client
A client is the requesting program or user in a client/server relationship. For example, the user of a Web browser is effectively making client requests for pages from we servers. The browser itself is a client in its relationship with the computer.

Client-Side Object Model
The SharePoint Client-Side Object Model (CSOM) enables a client application to make batch requests to a front-end Web server running SharePoint Products and Technologies to perform operations on core platform objects such as lists, sites, and users. With CSOM a client application has access to much of the same functionality that is exposed by the SOAP Web services. CSOM can also be accessed using common web technologies via a REST methodology.
Client/server
The relationship between two computer programs in which one program, the client, makes a service request from another program, the server, which fulfills the request.
Clipping Masks
A clipping mask is an object whose shape masks other artwork so that only areas that lie within the shape are visible in effect, clipping the artwork to the shape of the mask. The clipping mask and the objects that are masked are called a clipping set.
