  • Tape drive

    A device that stores computer data on magnetic tape, especially for backup and archiving purposes. Like an ordinary tape recorder, a tape drive records data on a loop of flexible celluloid-like material that can be read and also erased. 

  • Tape library

    A collection of magnetic tape cartridges and tape drives. An automated tape library contains multiple tape drives, access ports, and a robotic device for mounting and dismounting the tape cartridges without human intervention.

  • TCP (Transmission Control Protocol)

    A set of rules used along with the Internet Protocol (IP) to send data in the form of message units between computers over the Internet. IP handles the actual delivery of data, while TCP keep track of the individual units of data.
