  • Teradata

    Teradata is a relational database management system (RDBMS), running on a UNIX MP-RAS or Windows server platform. It is completely built on a parallel architecture and capable of supporting many concurrent users from various client platforms.

  • Terminal Access Controller Access Control System (TACACS)

    An encryption protocol common to UNIX networks that allows a remote access server to forward a user's logon password to an authentication server to determine whether access can be allowed to a given system. 

  • Terminal Adapter (TA)

    A hardware interface between a computer and an Integrated Services Digital Network line. It's what replaces a modem when you are using an ISDN connection. 

  • Terminal Emulation

    A terminal emulator, terminal application, term, or tty for short, is a program that emulates a video terminal within some other display architecture. Though typically synonymous with a command line shell or text terminal, the term terminal covers all remote terminals, including graphical interfaces. A terminal emulator inside a graphical user interface is often called a terminal window.

  • Terminal Proxy Server (TPS)

    A program that acts as an interface for VoIP phones. The TPS provides multiple VoIP telephone sets with a common configuration, facilitating safe and reliable operation of each supported set.

  • Terminal server

    A hardware device or server that provides terminals (PCs, printers, and other devices) with a common connection point to a local or wide area network. 

  • Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) program

    A program that is set up to be loaded and then remain in computer memory so that it is quickly accessible when a user presses a certain keyboard combination. TSR programs are used in Disk Operating Systems and other non-task operating systems. 

  • Test automation

    The use of special software in software testing to control the execution of tests, the comparison of actual outcomes to predicted outcomes, the setting up of test preconditions, and other test control and test reporting functions.

  • Test Case

    A test case, is a set of conditions or variables under which a tester will determine whether the application under test is working as per the requirement mentioned in the requirement document.  

  • Test Lead

    Test leads are involved in the planning, monitoring, and control of the testing activities and tasks. At the ourset, test leads work in collaboration with the other stakeholders, devise the test objectives, organizational test policies, test strategies and test plans. They estimate the testing to be done and negotiate with management to acquire the necessary resources. They lead, guide and monitor the analysis, design, implementation and execution of the test cases, test procedures and test suites. They ensure proper configuration management of the testware produced and traceability of the tests to the test basis.

  • Test Management Tools

    Test management tools are used to store the information how the testing is to be done, plan the testing activities and report the status of quality assurance activities. The tools have different approach to testing and thus have different set of features. Test management tools offer the prospect of streamlining the testing process and allow quick access to data analysis, collaborative tools and easy communication across multiple project teams. Many test management tools incorporate Requirements management capabilities to streamline test case design from the requirements. Tracking of defects and project tasks are done within one application to further simplify the testing.

  • Test Manager

    A Test Manager is the one who assign people (Testers or Quality Analysts) to project, track progress and provide feedback or coaching whereever necessary. They help testers create test strategies, implement testing process and create test infrastructures.

  • Test planning

    A document describing the scope, approach, resources and schedule of intended test activities. It identifies amongst others test items, the features to be tested, the testing tasks, who will do each task, degree of tester independence, the test environment, the test design techniques and entry and exit criteria to be used, and the rationale for their choice,and any risks requiring contingency planning. It is a record of the test planning process.

  • Test Script

    A test script in software testing is a set of instructions that will be performed on the system under test to test that the system functions as expected.

  • Testing

    Software testing can be stated as the process of validating and verifying that a computer program/application/product meets the requirements that guided its design and development, works as expected, can be implemented with the same characteristics and satisfies the needs of stakeholders.
